John Buck - C, Kansas City Royals
Jul. 7, 4:55 p.m.
John Buck hit a three-run homer in the top of the 10th to lead the Royals over the Rays on Monday afternoon. Fantasy Source spin: Last time we checked in with Buck he was passing blood after getting hit in the cup with a foul tip. It was a much better day today as he also singled and scored, finishing 2-for-5. His three-run blast off Dan Wheeler was followed by a solo shot from Mike Aviles to put the Royals up four.

Mike Napoli - C, Los Angeles Angels
Jul. 7, 4:13 p.m.
Angels placed catcher Mike Napoli on the 15-day disabled list with right shoulder inflammation. Fantasy Source spin: Napoli started 43 of the Angels' first 88 games, but Jeff Mathis will now play nearly every day behind the plate, with Ryan Budde backing him up. Napoli hit .204/.308/.472 with 12 homers and 29 RBI in 169 plate appearances.

Hideki Matsui - DH, New York Yankees
Jul. 7, 10:00 a.m.
Yankees GM Brian Cashman said that playing the outfield would not be part of Hideki Matsui's rehab work. Fantasy Source spin: This likely means that the Yankees are only considering a return to the DH spot for Matsui if he does make it back this season. Team trainers say that he's "showing some improvement," but there's still no timetable for a possible return. Source: New York Daily News

Pitchers
Erik Bedard - SP, Seattle Mariners
Jul. 7, 9:19 p.m.
According to the Seattle Times, Erik Bedard could start Saturday or Sunday "depending on how his shoulder feels." Fantasy Source spin: With Felix Hernandez set to come off the disabled list Friday, the Mariners could use Ryan Rowland-Smith to sub for Bedard if needed. Manager Jim Riggleman said Monday that the Mariners may decide to shut Bedard down through the All-Star break.

Felix Hernandez - SP, Seattle Mariners
Jul. 7, 9:15 p.m.
Felix Hernandez (ankle) is scheduled to come off the disabled list to start Friday versus the Royals. Fantasy Source spin: King Felix has been sidelined since June 23 after injuring his ankle while covering home plate. He's returning to face the punchless Royals in a favorable first matchup, so Hernandez should be activated in all leagues.

Adam Loewen - SP, Baltimore Orioles
Jul. 7, 7:19 p.m.
According to the Baltimore Sun, Adam Loewen (elbow) is "a slam dunk" to land on the disabled list. Fantasy Source spin: Loewen underwent a CT scan Monday, but the results haven't been made public yet. He left Sunday's game after complaining of a sharp pain in his left elbow.

Dontrelle Willis - SP, Detroit Tigers
Jul. 7, 2:51 p.m.
The Tigers said Monday that Dontrelle Willis will fly to Detroit to have his right knee examined by the team doctor. Fantasy Source spin: It's the same knee that he hyperextended in April and caused him to go on the 15-day disabled list. He hasn't pitched since a June 29 outing for Single-A, and it's unclear just how long the knee has been bothering him.

Jul. 7, 12:06 a.m.Bobby Jenks (back) might not be available to pitch for the White Sox before the All-Star break Fantasy Source spin: Jenks continues to be bothered by soreness in his back, and he played long toss on Sunday, but he still hasn't thrown a side session since first reporting the pain.
