RHP John Smoltz threw one inning for Class A Rome and had one strikeout Saturday night in his latest rehab outing. Smoltz, who has been on the DL since April 29 with a sore arm and shoulder, could be activated Monday and join the bullpen. Initially, Smoltz, Rafael Soriano and Manny Acosta figure to combine to be a trio of situational closers for the relief-rich Braves.Analysis: Smoltz won't be a full-time closer right away, but he could get as many as a couple of save chances in his first week back. For that reason, consider him a candidate to activate in deeper leagues -- especially NL-only formats.
