NL Baseball Players of the week.
Florida pitcher Ricky Nolasco and Pittsburgh catcher Ryan Doumit were chosen to share Monday's National League player of the week honor.
Nolasco had two wins and 15 strike outs in his two starts last week, giving up just two earned runs and 10 hits in improving to 7-4 on the season.
Doumit led the National League with four home runs. He scored eight runs and hit .400 for the award period June 9-15. In the Pirates three-game series against Washington, Doumit was 9-for-11 hitting with four home runs and seven runs batted in.
Also considered for NL player of the week were Florida's Jorge Cantu, San Diego's Edgar Gonzalez and Philadelphia's Pat Burrell, Ryan Howard and Jamie Moyer.
AL Baseball Player of the week
Cleveland pitcher C.C. Sabathia, who won twice last week.
Sabathia was 2-0 with a 1.59 earned run average. Last Tuesday he pitched a five-hit shutout against Minnesota and on Sunday went eight innings while striking out 10 San Diego Padres. He walked just one batter and allowed a .193 batting average over his 17 innings of work last week.

Other players considered for player of the week, for games played June 9-15 were Cleveland's Grady Sizemore, New York's Alex Rodriguez and Boston's J.D. Drew.
